SHAPE AND FORM IN ART
It is very important that you must have a good knowledge of shape and form for making your painting beautiful. As i told you in other art related blogs of mine that all the related elements will only make your paintings thoughtful, creative and attractive.so ,never forget to use this elements whenever you make a creation.
It is the shape or volume of a thing which reveals its structure. The circle is a shape whereas a ball is a form. Form is defined by outline and colour.
There are two types of forms-free form and geometric form. An apple, ear and nose are examples of free forms. Triangle, square and rectangle are geometric forms. In nature all forms are geometric.
So,whenever you make any of sketches, drawing or paintings you have to use your ability in free forms or geometric forms to create any of the shapes to express your inner feelings to the paper or canvases.
HARMONY IN ART
To create harmony all the elements of painting like colour, tone form and texture should produce an impression of unity in a painting.
An attractive painting can be made only when the various elements of painting are balanced. The elements should lay stress on ther painter’s vision and the central purpose of painting. The forms or objects in painting should not be equal. The objects kept at a distance should appear small and their colours should be light or diffused. This would give the painting a proper perspective and harmony.
Texutral harmony also plays a vital role in painting. The roughness or smoothness of the surface of material can be felt with one’s fingers. But in visual matters it depends upon the artist’s skill how he creates the impression of right texture harmonising with the painting.
harmony.
PROPORTION IN ART
The good idea of proportion will help you to make your paintings in good composition and keep your painting viewable for your audiences.
Proportion in drawing means measurement of the various sizes, shapes and position of the parts of the subject by the eye.
Proportion is the ration of comparision of one part to another. In figure drawing proportion is conveyed through size and positions.
Proportion in desigh means appropriate planning of the different components of the design. Right proportion between foreground andbackground, different components, colours and their tonal value, straight and curved line etc., are important for creating a good design.
BALANCE IN ART
In painting balance is kept through forms and colours. In a balanced design our eyes should be able to move with ease all over the design. If some portion of the design is either weak or is left vacant the balance of the design is likely to be upset. The balance can be achieved with the help of lines, shapes, light and shade, colour and texture. Lack of balance fails to attract attention, and there is always a feeling that something is missing in the design. Balance is maintained in two ways, formal and informal.
(i) Formal Balance
When the components are equally distributed on both the side of a design , it is said to be formal balance.
(ii) Informal Balance
When the components are not equally distributed on both the sides of a design and the balance is achieved by adjusting the shape, size,
Colour or tone etc., then it is called informal balance.
PERSPECTIVE IN ART
What is a perspective?you must have a good knowledge of it to make a nice painting.
Perspective is used in drawing and painting to help and create a sense of depth and space. Perspective is the art of representing solid objects on a flat surface as they are seen to be the eye : in other words, it is the way to make solid objects ‘look right.’
Now there is a wide difference between what you know in your mind about a thing and how your eyes see that thing. For example, suppose you are contemplating the view of a street which has a row of identical houses on either side. The houses at the far and appear to the eye smaller than those near to you. How small they appear to be in the picture depends on the length of the street, the longer the street, the smaller as farther and farther he goes.
Perspective is also useful in showing the third dimension of an object.
ELEMENTS OF ARTS
No doubt art has no boundaries in expression. In order to be able to appreciate or to create a work of art, one must get oneself acquainted with the principles of art its basic elements, which make a painting appealing and correct.

SOME MORE THINGS IN ART EDUCATION
MORE ABOUT ART EDUCATION
The psychologists think that in the child the dividing line between conscious and sub-conscious is so vague that his expression of feelings becomes a queer mixture of the real and fanciful. Another quality which is evident in his art is that his expressive urge is so strong that he discovers his own way of working and creating art forms which suit his purpose. This tendency may be interpreted as his ego , but it is the quality of his art.
From the age of ten to thirteen a student requires the knowledge of the elements of painting. He should be provided the theoretical knowledge of line and its effects , colours and their effects , perspectives, rhythm, balance, form and space, texture, proportion and harmony. By keeping in mind the theory of elements of painting he can prepare balanced composition of a painting. If he has knowledge of the elements of art, he can find out his own mistakes. By practicing the elements of painting step-by-step he can create artistic paintings. He can also create his own style.
ART EDUCATION
ART EDUCATION
At first, Art education is the must for everyone from childhood to oldage, it helps you to fit you from mental to physical attitude .The aim of art education is to sensitise the persons so that they may learn to respond to the beauty in line, colour , form , movement, harmony , rhythm , perspective , e. t. c .
In recent times, has been defined as a means to the creative growth of the child. The new approach recognizes one’s life experience and the inner world as a source for the subject-matter of art in order to give a personnel expression to feelings, thoughts and ideas. This approach assumes that every child has an ability to express himself through art because it is an inborn quality very much inherent in him.
A child wants to express the things which interest him and which catch his fancy in his own environment. Art being an expressive medium comes naturally to him because it appeals to his instincts. He even explores to use of his medium with his own effort.
In the early stages of childhood, he learns it all by himself through the drawing of scribbles, which he improves upon into symbols and shapes in a kind of semi-realisms as he grows. This quality of self-expression through art is manifested even in his play activities where he sub-consciously expresses himself by way of rhythmic movements , gesticulation, humming of tunes and scribbling of shapes and forms.
It has been observed that the child is extremely frank and expresses his true emotions in his art. He emphasizes certain things which he feels strongly in him.about art
Art is everywhere. Our appreciative mind recognizes every form of art in the world we live in. It is not just acknowledging the beauty of an object, a poem or a painting, it is recognizing and accepting anything we see as art.
Art is an important part of our lives, as it stimulates our mind. It gives us the opportunity to explore our creative side. Art in any form entertains, informs, educates and enlightens us in every possible way. It gives us the meaning of everything we see around us. Without art, our lives would simply become plain, boring and lifeless.
Art is an expression of one’s self. Through art, we can express our emotions, such as happiness, love, sadness or grief. It is our medium to share our hidden talents, and for the world to know how creative we are.
How many songs have we sung, how many lyrics have we memorized and appreciated? These are words coming from a writer whose lyrics are derived from his moods and emotions, while he puts the words together. We know that every letter, every word and every pause come from the heart; it belongs to the writer, but the thoughts and feelings are shared with everyone. Even the melody accompanying the lyrics is such a great form of art. Upbeat music could make us happy, a slow song could make us sad, or would help us internalize, and become one with our emotions.
How many art galleries have we visited, how many paintings did we admire, how many sculptures did we take a second or third glance at? Each form of art is different, but they somehow connect to our souls and emotions. Any form of art makes us realize how great these works of art are, and how wonderful it touches us within. How it teaches us to become observant and appreciative.
We see and acknowledge everything through our artistic eyes.

art in todays world
What is an art?Art in my view is an expression of inner feelings which we show throughout our medium from which we are exposing it,such as painting, singing, dancing, writing and many more.
Today, two important developments can be registered in a modified communication context:
- the move of artists towards science and new technologies,
- the move of scientists towards art and spirituality.
Thanks to ease of communication, art can be, and in fact is diffused and exchanged everywhere in the world. The best example of it is music. It is the same with science, yet its position today is not very easy, relativity and quantum theories have shown that truth once reached can be proved untrue in a different context. Secondly, everything is connected and thus we cannot separate the observed object from the observer, neither can we separate the different elements of nature and man is one of those. Imagination, which has always been considered as the key of creativity by artists can also open large avenues to new scientific research. To reach the source of this imagination we have to turn inside in order to discover what we keep in our deeper self that we have ignored.
Have things always been like that? If not, why have they changed? It is usually said that those who study science only use logic and their brains, whereas those who practise art, are just dreamers who express their inner drive, their feelings and emotions. We may wonder whether things are as simple as that?
But it is in man’s temperament to try to understand and master everything that he has to deal with, and little by little, man acquired more and more power over nature. He discovered the roundness of the earth, was able to cross oceans, and thanks to printing, could spread out his new theories and discoveries; then, art started to represent scenes of ordinary life with no links whatsoever with gods or religion.
On the contrary, in this painting, there are no colours, everything is black and white, in the middle we can see an eye- like electrical lamp which is supposed to be the sun, the man, who is a soldier, is killed, trampled down by the horse, the horse is dying, so are the women and children, the bull looks infinitely sad, everybody is a victim... Under the sun lamp, there is a flame held by a running man, showing the consequences of hatred. The whole world has become a lethal corrida, the whole world has become mad...
