The psychologists think that in the child the dividing line between conscious and sub-conscious is so vague that his expression of feelings becomes a queer mixture of the real and fanciful. Another quality which is evident in his art is that his expressive urge is so strong that he discovers his own way of working and creating art forms which suit his purpose.This tendency may be interpreted as his ego , but it is the quality of his art.
From the age of ten to thirteen a student requires the knowledge of the elements of painting. He should be provided the theoretical knowledge of line and its effects , colours and their effects , perspectives, rhythm, balance, form and space, texture, proportion and harmony. By keeping in mind the theory of elements of painting he can prepare balanced composition of a painting. If he has knowledge of the elements of art, he can find out his own mistakes. By practicing the elements of painting step-by-step he can create artistic paintings. He can also create his own style.
